The Art of Cooking and the Science of Baking is for the culinary budding artist. Each day, young cooks will meet a new chef or baker to explore the artistry of cooking a specific dish or treat. Our guest chefs will concentrate on not only creating a specific culinary delight but will teach students basic cooking techniques, “clean-cooking” methods, use of cooking tools and craft secrets. Cooks will discover pastry creation, basic cake baking and decorating techniques, homemade pasta and sauces, bread making and perhaps even a sushi chef who shares the secrets of rolling. Using both our art room and Kent Denver’s famous kitchen, students will learn some great cooking basics and discover their talents as chefs extraordinaire! All new recipes will be offered for the returning chef. They will return home with a fabulous cookbook containing recipes from the week and favorite family dishes with original illustrations to boot. $35 MATERIALS FEE
