Photography Intensive is designed for both the beginning and intermediate photographer. Photographers will gain an in-depth understanding of introductory photography skills to implement their creative ideas and expand their photographic expertise. Students will learn the art and science behind a pinhole camera. Artists will explore how to develop prints in a darkroom using developer and apply the Rosetta Stone of photography. These are elements that all photographs share and will be arranged in differing degrees to create powerful and compelling images. Students will explore a variety of photographic styles, including street, studio, still life, and sports photography. During the week students will begin to create a digital and physical portfolio of their work to take with them. Students should have access to a camera phone, point and shoot, or digital SLR camera.  Materials Fee: $35

Learn about the fascinating ways people buried their dead in ancient Egypt! Symbols, traditions and methods will be explored and the basis of our art projects. Students will design and build thier own ceramic canopic jars adorned with Egyptian symbols to keep valuables safe in the afterlife. We will build symbolic objects such as scrolls and scarab beetles as well as design pharoah thrones to accompany our canopic jars for good luck.

In this class, music and art will merge as we explore both historical and subjective relationships between music and visual art. Art and music often influence each other in many different ways. The are many similar terms that are used in both art forms such as repetition, variety, intensity and balance. In this class, students will learn the relationship between both forms of art by creating drawings, paintings and ceramics while listening to different types of music and with their application of new terminology.

Each day of camp, campers will complete an at home art project with instruction through Zoom. Campers will get the opportunity to use different art mediums including watercolor, paint, shaving cream, etc. Throughout the week campers will learn different art techniques and will finish with 5 awesome art projects!Activities run from 9 am - 12 pm with at least 1 hour of Zoom daily. Campers should sign up for only 1 camp per session. Additional materials fee may apply.

Roses are red, violets are blue, I like to make art, how about you?! This week students will have the opportunity to refine their drawing, painting (watercolor and acrylic) and ceramic skills during a week of observational art-making. We will further our skills by focusing on the color, shape and lines that make up different flowers! Students will go in depth with closely observing and then replicating flowers in both 3-D and 2-D forms. Artists will have the opportunity to set up their own still life to inspire their composition. This class will be essential to advancing your artistic skills!

Through the study of printmaking’s history and artists, students will learn printmaking techniques from basic to complex. In this printmaking class students will work like a graphic designer and plan out their own posters. We will learn about some of the great printmakers such as Rob Indiana, Heinz Schulz-Neudamm and Andy Warhol and what inspired their posters. Students will learn how to layer, plan out multiple registers and all these techniques will be combined to create a final plate and very powerful prints!
