Red and blue make....? What about yellow and blue? Let's Mix it up and see! This class will explore the magical world of color mixing. Students will learn color theory terminology such as primary colors, tint and shade and experiment themselves. We will use books such as Mix it Up! and Press Here to guide us in our color mixing! We will make our own color wheel turtles, make paintings with only warm or cool colors and other applications of the rainbow!

Create an EPIC artwork that is the same size as YOU! students will learn about basic anatomy by working together with a partner to trace each other’s bodies. students will then work on their large artwork throughout the week with various drawing, painting and collage materials. They’ll add more and more layers, starting with their background, their bodies, then off to their organs, facial features and clothing! students will learn the functions of the brain, lungs, stomach, heart, joints, eyes, nose and mouth while they create them! We will look at stories such as Inside your Outside, My Amazing Body and My First Book about the Brain.

As you look back on this special time in your child’s life, the artworks created in this class will become as cherished as the artists who made them! students will celebrate their individuality and learn about their likenesses and differences. Art lessons will include expressive self portraits, Picasso style hand print art, miniature 2-D sculptures of themselves and much more. Books such as Marvelous Me, Me, Myself and I and What I Like About Me will serve as a springboards for discussion and art making!

This week, we’ll go on all kinds of artistic adventures with that lovable, curious monkey and the man in the yellow hat! Curious George is know for his inquisitive nature and this week we will join him on his inventive adventures! We will take everyday objects, such as rubber bands, balloons, pieces of wood and bubble wrap, and turn them into our very own art tools! This class will use problem solving, every student's investigative skills and thinking outside the box to create our art masterpieces! Let's follow George into the world of exploration as we read his stories and recreate objects and scenes from the books with acrylic paints, watercolors, collage, recycled objects and more!!

Dust off your spurs and your 10-gallon hat - It’s time for another fun summer class at the Art Garage Corral! Cowgirls and cowboys will immerse themselves in art activities, imaginative play and stories that relate to the American West! Your child will create his or her very own “stick horse” using paper mache, yarn and paint pop up cactus flowers all while donning a sheriff’s badge and hat. Whether it’s your first rodeo or not, you’ll be sure to say “Yee- Haaaw!”

Future Hearts, Minds & Dreamers is proud to offer the Junk to Art class for all ages. This is a project based class where students design and create their own pieces of artwork, recycling and up-cycling discarded items. Students will have hands-on guidance from professional artists. Students will learn skills like: creative exploration, observation skills, color and layout design, communication skills and problem solving skills. ***Kits will be mailed out once you have registered. Please allow 5 days for shipping. Once you have registered, we will send you a Zoom invite for the scheduled days and times of the meetings.

This engaging class is sure to be a people pleaser for parents and young artists alike, as we combine the literature and art of Eric Carle into our own creations. From “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” to “The Very Lonely Firefly” and the timeless classic “Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?”, students will find excitement as they create art in Carle’s style of bright colors, broad strokes and a plethora of patterns and textures. Students will also create a firefly that glows in the dark! Cutting with scissors, color theory, pattern and texture will all be incorporated into lessons in this fun class!

Stained glass windows illuminate our worlds with a kaleidoscope of color! During this week we will explore four unique and nontraditional ways to create a “stained glass” effect using safe and fun techniques! We’ll create colored tissue paper jars to hold a flickering tea candle and gelatin wind chimes that will sing and sparkle in the sunlight! These beautiful, colorful creations will be sure to brighten the lives of young artists.

Let’s start by getting back down to the basics in this drawing and painting class! We will explore many general painting techniques, color theory, guided drawing and line drawing. Then we will build from what we’ve learned and apply it to multi media collage work, color theory paint pouring, scraping and layering. Artists will be able to learn many drawing and painting application techniques in this mixed media painting class!

We will pair some of our favorite sing-a-long songs with art! Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Tisket a Tasket and London Bridge is Falling Down will be just some of the songs that inspire our art projects. Students will learn how to take elements of each song and visualize their ideas into 2 dimesional and 3 dimensional works of art!

Need a break from the heat? Come join us in the kitchen! The art kitchen that is! students will delight in this experimental, process based, culinary inspired class that examines the many ways that different foods can be utilized in art making! We’ll become bakers for a day and make play dough “baked goods”, paint with ice cubes and draw with buttermilk chalk. We’ll use veggies and fruits to create patterns and prints and look at artists that used fruits in their own artwork like Giuseppe Arcimboldo. We’ll even read “How Are you Peeling?” and learn some fun nutritional facts along the way! This class is sure to be a recipe for success! Bon Appetit!
